Monday was our two year anniversary. We didnt do anything as a couple this year (instead we played eba and went up to camano with a few friends). But honestly, I’m ok with that. Like its really cool being able to do couple stuff, like getting dinner or seeing a movie or other random activities.
Yet there is so much more to being a couple than that. Because being in a relationship is actually being in a relationship. When I look back on my relationship with Evan, I remember the late night talks. The times where I’m crying or he’s upset. The times where we’re laughing over absolutely nothing. The times after we get into a fight. Sure, the expensive dinners and movie tickets were fun times, but they weren’t… Personal. A relationship can’t last with just those fun and (I must say) expensive activities.
I’m ok with not having a glamorous relationship. I don’t need to go to these over-the-top dinners. Or the latest movies. All I need is him by my side, knowing that someone has my back at all times. And for the past two years, I have definitely found that :]
